BC#104 -- New Meets Old

Well, this post has no sets or accessories on the Last Chance lists....I didn't really have any ideas for a man card that included retiring items. (We'll resume with Last Chance ideas soon!) BUT, this card will give you a sneak peak at a couple of cool, new accessories that will be in the new SU catalog. AND beginning July 1, you can order these, too!
This card began with that little tape measure from Totally Tools. This set ended up in my collection because it is just so perfect for my hubby...I purchased it 'cause I have a lot of photos to scrap that are of some of the many many improvements we made around our house. (Hubby did most of the work.) One day, I'll actually scrap them! LOL! In the meantime, it works perfectly for MAN cards!! This card took me awhile, because when I completed one step, I'd sit back and look at it and think, "I should have done this.....or added that" and it was back to beginning all over again!
So, as I mentioned, the little tape measure was stamped first by using Pitch Black ink by Ranger onto Watercolor Paper. I used Prismacolor Pencils to color it in, highlighting with a yellow glaze pen, and just a touch of glitter by using a clear sparkle Spica Pen.
Then I needed to figure out what papers went with this little guy.....the grays were really dull, but Bordering Blue worked. Then I was off to look for some DSP....well, this background paper is from one of the very first Simply Scrappin' Kits I ever purchased from SU....it says 2004 on the copyright.....obviously, it's been in my stash for a long time! The colors of the tape measure and the DSP are what dictated the other colors that were pulled into making this card.....not sure I would have put them together otherwise!
When I went to add the greeting, I had planned to use the Word Window Punch, but realized that it didn't capture all of the words, but my brand-new, hasn't been released yet, will be in the new catalog punch, Modern Label, did! I wasn't going to buy that punch initially, but when I realized how fun it would be....and how it really worked with other things in the SU line....well, you can see I couldn't resist! Here's it's been paired with the new Movers & Shakers for my Big Shot (also a new release). Cool, isn't it?!!
So, as you can see, making this card was a process! But, it came together pretty well....even if it did take me forever to make it!! Thanks for stopping by....don't forget to check in and see what the others have been up to!
