Bloggers' Challenge -- Better Late than Never!

Being away for four days last weekend sure has put me behind. Don't get me wrong, I had a GREAT time with my stamp sister (Hey, Astrid!)....we met a few years back when she was still living here in NJ and an SU demo. BUT, she's moved away to mid PA and we just don't get to talk or visit as often as either of us would like. So, I left on Friday last week and stayed till Monday....but that meant that nothing around here was done....and I began the week already behind! THAT's why I'm behind on my stamping! (Oh, but I had SUCH a wonderful time!!)

So, this was due on Friday.....the Challenge this week was a sketch, which is fairly simple and straight forward. The first time I tried, I was relatively happy with the results (although there is a bit on this card that is non-SU!). Somehow I ended up with the wrong scale, because the ribbon divider just didn't go where the sketch said it should....so, I guess you could say I took a bit of "creative license." What else is new....right?!! This time I used another of the JudiKins stamps purchased at CHA in Orlando. Although you can't tell, this was embossed over a piece of Glossy CS that had the Polished Stone technique done on it. The Ruby Red layer shows off another new embossing folder, Herringbone. LOVE IT!!
Stamps: JudiKins, Thank You Kindly
Inks: Basic Black Classic & Craft
Re-Inkers: Ruby Red, Old Olive, More Mustard
CS: Natural Ivory (cardbase), Old Olive, Ruby Red, More Mustard, Glossy
Misc: Herringbone Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), Wide Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Piercer & Template, Clear Embossing Powder
Well....since that first card wasn't quite right, I decided to try again. AND, since I've been working on Halloween ideas with my Stamp Club ladies, I thought I'd try a Halloween card idea. I'm really loving this little sketleton....on this card, he's stamped in White Craft Ink and embossed. I'm also really loving the new Halloween DSP available in the new Holiday Mini.....but, I still have quite a bit of older DSP that I need to use up first! So, this paper is retired, but can easily be substituted with the great new designs now available!
Did you notice that the ribbons and greeting still aren't in the right spot?!! Oh, well! Guess it's just not going to happen for me. Thanks for stopping....hope you enjoyed the samples and your visit. You can see what the other Bloggers' have been up to by clicking here.

Great cards. I love the use of the Polished Stone technique on your first card (may have to try that) and love your Halloween card. I just ordered that set last week.
