BC #67 -- Falling For You

Falling for You is the theme this week......and that could mean a number of different things. After all, just think about that phrase: love, leaves AND snow all fall! So, what was my take on this theme? Well, I kind of combined 2 of them! Love....my anniversary is coming up in about a week and a half......and if you've read any of my recent posts, you know that I love Fall! So, I made a Fall-themed anniversary card for my hubby!! Perfect for this week, don't you think?!!

This card is definitely a CASE of one posted by our very own Bloggers' Challenge member, Marcia Pringle! I've had this idea downloaded on my computer for a very long time and thought it would work perfectly for the combined theme. (THANK YOU, Marcia!!) Of course, I made some changes, but the overall idea and layout is all Marcia's!!

You see, I needed a masculine type card...no hearts or frills for hubby. (He'd hate it!) So, I pulled out my very time-worn set, Lovely as a Tree. The leaf branches were first stamped in More Mustard ink and then to achieve the multi-colored look, I used markers and the Thumping technique. 'Course, Marcia's background used French Script, which I sold long ago (and have regretted it many times since), but I used an old favorite, Linen and then Tres Chic. The greeting was changed and employs 3 punches....which is very different from the original. So, you see, it is similar....definitely inspired....but still different!

Thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to see what the others have been up to....hope to see you there.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Linen*, Tres Chic, Always, Short & Sweet

Inks: More Mustard, Really Rust, Creamy Carmel, Chocolate Chip

CS: Natural Ivory, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive

Markers: Old Olive, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa

Punches: 1 3/8" Round, Designer Label Punch, Wide Oval Punch

Misc: Cutter Kit (Distressing Tool), Wide Old Olive Grosgrain, Taupe Grosgrain*, Old Olive Mini Brads, Paper Piercer (Tool Kit)
