Monday Lunchtime Challenge -- #109

Well, yes, I know it's Thursday and not Monday.....I actually had this done on Monday, but just wasn't sure about it. Intended to make another, but it's time for more Challenges, and this one has grown on me. So, it's time to share, don't you think?!!
There is almost NO stamping on this one, except for that tiny little greeting in the upper left corner. All the butterflies and the base for the oval (behind the large, center butterfly) were all created with my Big Shot. The borders are from the same punch....a friend gave me a great Martha Stewart punch recently for my birthday. It creates a large lattice type border and is just so pretty!
So, what do you think? I'm so ready for Spring, so this card is very Spring-like. Be sure to check out MaryJo's sketch here. Thanks for stopping by today!
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Basic Gray
CS: Whisper White, Old Olive, Orchid Opulence
Misc: Wide Oval Punch, Martha Stewart border punch, Big Shot, Lots of Tags Sizzlet, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Cottage Wall DSP
Please note: ALL materials used to create this sample are from SU! with the exception of the border punch.

Blogger's Challenge -- Happy Valentine's Day!

This creation is one I designed for a recent swap I participated in......it is such a simple design, I'm almost embarrassed to share.....but I love the way it came out! Maybe it's the Kraft background.....or maybe it's the beautiful DSP used (Sending Love from the Occasions Mini), which has lovely colors and is all glittered up!
Both hearts were stamped and cut out....the filigree heart is embossed, (not sure you can see that) and placed on Dimensionals. And that cute little tag hanging from the ribbon is from the Tiny Tags set....as you can see, the coordinating punch was used.
Simple, easy, and quick! Gotta love that! Now I'm off to check the others to see what wonderful creations they have made. Won't you join me?
Stamps: I (Heart) Hearts, Tiny Tags
Inks: Real Red (Classic & Craft)
CS: Kraft, Very Vanilla
Misc: Medium Jewelry Tag Punch, Dimensionals, Clear Embossing Powder, Wide Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon, Sending Love DSP
Please note: All items used to create this sample are currently available from SU!
Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peak at my creation! And I wish you a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with lots of love!!

Simple Embossing

First I want to begin by apologizing for the very crooked photo. I just cannot seem to master straight photo shots! I place the cards on a cute little plastic easel that I have, and they always look straight in my viewfinder. Then when I download them, it seems to be a very different story! And to be honest, I made this one yesterday and it's already been mailed as a thank you....so no re-takes.
Anyway, this is simple as you can see with very little layering. I'm really liking the clean and uncluttered look of this one! The Whisper White card base has been embossed with that fabulous Finial Embossing Folder as you can see.....it just adds so much to a card! Those cute little flowers were stamped in Basic Black and simply colored in with markers and the flowers were then glittered. (The markers can sometimes come out a bit streaky and the glitter covers the flaws.) The double layered circle is popped up on Dimensionals. Oh, and check out that cute little Thank You tag hiding by the knot in the ribbon....it's from Tiny Tags. Oh, and yes, this card is really similar to another recent post....same materials, same colors, different look!
Stamps: Happy Moments, Tiny Tags
Inks: Basic Black, Melon Mambo
CS: Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Markers: Orchid Oppulence, Gable Green, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay
Misc: Medium Jewelry Tag Punch, Scallop Trim Punch, White Satin Ribbon, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Circle Scissors, Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Finial Embossing Folder, Big Shot
Please note: ALL materials used to create this sample are currently available from SU!

Monday Lunchtime Challenge #108

Well, obviously, it's no longer Monday.....and, yes, I am very behind....but I am catching up! MaryJo's Challenge this week gave me a little bit of a struggle, but when I pulled out Charming (yes it's still available!!) I seem to have hit my stride! (You can see MJ's sketch and her ideas here.)
I have to say that I'm loving these 2 In Colors together....haven't you seen them everywhere? I know I have....in clothing stores and housewares as well! And in this season of pinks and reds and blacks for Valentine's Day, it's a refreshing change, don't you think?
Now this photo seems to be just a bit off....the cardstock color is Soft Suede and the ribbon is Chocolate Chip, which in real life blends just a bit better than on screen. This card is pretty straight forward, no special techniques. The ovals were created with the Wide Oval Punch (Whisper White) and the smallest of the ovals in the Big Shot die.....these are mounted onto Dimensionals.
Don't forget to check out Mary Jo's post to see who else is playing along this week!
Stamps: Charming, Tiny Tags
Inks: Bahama Breeze, Soft Suede
CS: Whisper White, Bahama Breeze, Soft Suede
Misc: Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Wide Oval Punch, Oval Die, Dimensionals, Scallop Trim Border Punch

Black-White-Red Bloggers' Challenge

Today is a snowday.....like many others, I'm snowed in! Meaning, it's a GREAT day to stay inside, nice and cozy......and STAMP!! And I did....I'm actually catching up a bit on the Challenges I've missed. Not all of them, mind you, but some.
I know I've been side tracked lately.....about a week ago, I completed 125 Save the Date cards for the daughter of a good friend, and this week, I've been working on my son's wedding invitations. He's getting married in May....boy, time is flying by! So, I have been stamping, but haven't been able to share much. Today, I have a few posts for you and lots to share, so please bare with me!
This card is simple...and meets the Bloggers' Challenge for last week. I just recently received some of the Hugs Love Notes* featured in the Occasions Mini....they are just so cute! Those little scallops are already done, all I needed to do was STAMP.....and I added the paper piercing as well. (*Love Notes are located on Page 19 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.....20 to a package for only $3.95!) This was layered on a slightly larger piece of Basic Black. The Real Red background was stamped randomly with the open heart image from I (Heart) Hearts......which if you purchase by February 28, SU will donate $2 from every set sold. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Not sure if you can tell, but the filigree heart image has been cut out and mounted on the dotted heart image. Simple, but I like the way it came out!
Stamps: I (Heart) Hearts, Well Scripted (both sets are in the Occasions Mini)
Inks: White Craft, Real Red, Basic Black
CS: Whisper White, Real Red, Hugs Love Notes
Misc: Wide Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Red Button (retired), Linen Thread, Dimensionals
Please Note: ALL materials used to create this sample are from SU!
Thanks for stopping by today....be sure to check back for more, coming soon!
